Makes me tired just thinking about it. Haha.

Although I would love to have a really large family, I don't think I could do 20 and still be sane.

I'm happy for them though. They seem to be a great family.

I love to watch their show. They have excellent parenting skills, and I can honestly say that I have used more than a few of their techniques with great success.

Even though I am not a religious person, I really admire them.

I just read an interview with her. When asked how she refuels, she said she has alone time after the kids are in bed, goes to sleep around midnight, wakes up at 6 to workout! I was amazed. I have 3 and I cannot do that. I have only seen the show once, so I don't know how logistically they run things, but seriously...how does she do it? another interesting fact...monthly grocery bill is $3,000! actually, for that many people, that's probably good, huh?

I couldn't do it either. Heck, I have a hard time getting up at 6:30 to work out after 7 1/2 hours of sleep, with only three kids! I think people with really large families must have very different constitutions (or very different expectations). To think, though, that I wonder if I could survive a 4th, when some people are on their 20th!

Hi everyone

she is a special lady but if you watch the show you will see that each child has a buddy, they all have juridicitions (chores), if I had 18 kids helping me out in the house it would be immaculate. They home school, so no school travel, school fees, uniforms etc etc. It is a completely different life, I wouldn't like that life as I don't know how much one on one each child would get, but it works for them, and they do it exceptionally well and it is to be admired.

After she had the last baby at 24 weeks (I think it was) maybe 26 and both their lives were at risk, I am really scared for her this time around. Saying that, she believes in her faith and I understand that too. That is some faith!

I've watched the show quite a few times. I wish I had Michelle's calm voice and apparent patience. (I bet my kids do too :-) I'm working on it though!

Like a previous poster said, each child having a buddy certainly must help, but I do wonder what they did when all of their kids were under 8 years old or so. Still a challenge I think. I would really miss out on the one on one time with each child that you can't possibly have on a regular basis with that many children. Although, clearly she's getting plenty of one on one time with Jim Bob!!

It does make me think, sometimes, well if they can have 20, surely 4 wouldn't be a big deal. Then I think of that one on one time that I really enjoy with the kids, my age, the cost, etc. But, you never know, I'm not out of the running quite yet! I'm waiting for someone on here to let us know what having 4 kids is all about!

As a very religious person myself...I understand WHY they have so many kids and marvel at the fact she can have so many and can continue to get pregnant with little effects on her body. As many of you know I have been pregnant 3 times, lost one pregnancy and had my 2 boys and ended up sicker with each postpartum period.....oh how I wish I didn't have the issues I have as I likely would have a very big family too, coming from one myself. I am SO used to the chaos of many people around. It feels so strange to have such a small family today.

Many of the things Michelle does with her family I have done with my family from the beginning, except the homeschooling which I began 4 years ago. The way they choose to live actually cuts down on the stress as they don't have all the hassles you'd expect them to have. I can say removing many complications from one's life really truly makes things easier. The areas of my life that still have drove me nuts with my tiny family, I have been slowly changing over the last 4 years and WOW what a difference it makes. In these areas of my life I have definitely looked at the Duggars for inspiration! What a great family! :-)
